General Information
Swimmer Placement
All swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards (1 lap) unassisted by the coaches and with or without a kickboard or noodle. Swimmers are typically grouped by age and ability with coaches determining group placement during the first week of practice. These placements are for the safety of our swimmers and allow the coaches to help your child develop as a swimmer. Your child's placement may change throughout the season, at the coach's discretion. A refund will be given if it is determined by the coaches that your swimmer needs to wait until next season. If you have any questions please email eastathensswimteam@gmail.com.
Hatchlings: Generally, our beginning swimmers (usually ages 5-8)
Ridleys: More seasoned swimmers and advanced-beginners (usually ages 8-10)
Loggerheads: Able to swim all four strokes and working on improving techniques (usually ages 9-15)
Hawkbills: Our most advanced, experienced, and dedicated swimmers (usually ages 13-18)
Birth Certificate Required
Georgia Recreation & Parks Association requires teams to provide birth certificate documentation for each swimmer. These documents are maintained by the coaches and will be destroyed at the end of the summer, if requested. Please provide 2 copies for each swimmer.
